If you weren’t already completely convinced that 2017 is the year of Lemongrass Spa, take a look at Pantone’s Color of the Year!!

Can you even?? It is absolutely perfect! Green is a color that represents balance and harmony. It is said to create equilibrium between the head and the heart. It’s the color of growth and rebirth. It represents newness, freshness, love of nature and prosperity. It is such a beautiful, ripe green you can almost SMELL it! I cannot think of a better color to represent Lemongrass Spa AND the year 2017! Bravo, Pantone!

You may wonder what importance the Pantone Color of the Year has and why I would even bother to write an article about it. Well, If you want to know what color you will see dominating your favorite department store racks, accessory shelves, shoe stores and even home furnishings department, it will likely be the Pantone Color of the Year. Or, as we saw last year, colors (2) of the year.

To better understand the influence of Pantone and color in general, their website states: “Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite, Incorporated, is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries. The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.”

Pantone is responsible for many of the colors in logos we identify with everyday such as the red in the Coca Cola logo and the hot pink Barbie logo. Since 1962, Pantone has been key in influencing the world on the trendiest colors in print, product design, fashion and the web.

A new selection of colors is revealed for every season. These are basically the “nominees” for color of the year. The Spring 2017 lineup (below) was influenced greatly by New York’s Fashion Week Spring 2017 Collections and is described by Pantone as “A Mixture of Vitality, Relaxation and the Great Outdoors”

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, says this of the Spring 2017 pallet:

"One of the things that we saw this year, was a renewed sense of imagination in which color was appearing in context that was different than the traditional. Reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature, our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling. From the warmth of sunny days with PANTONE 13-0755 Primrose Yellow to the invigorating feeling of breathing fresh mountain air with PANTONE 18-0107 Kale and the desire to escape to pristine waters with PANTONE 14-4620 Island Paradise, designers applied color in playful, yet thoughtful and precise combinations to fully capture the promises, hope and transformation that we yearn for each Spring."

From these 10 colors, a group of color standard specialists from around the world assemble and give presentations resulting in the color of the year. The color is usually a representation of our times.

While Sheer Minerals does not currently have a shade like “Greenery” in its makeup line, there are many colors that compliment this bright, springy green and many of our eye shadow shades are represented or coordinate well with the Pantone Spring pallet.

We could not be more pleased with this years color selection. It embodies the Lemongrass vision of ‘Fresh Pure and Natural,’ the excitement and hope a New Year brings, and the anticipation of the growth and newness of spring.

Lets all go green in ’17!!

Wow!! It's beautiful to watch the green as the color of the year. It reminds us of happiness and nature. Reading through your points and findings it was really informative to know more about the Pantone’s Color of the Year and how they choose one particular color.
    Thanks
