Used across the globe for centuries, plant essences played a substantial role in medicinal preparations and religious ceremonies. These essences evolved to what we now know as essential oils. While still used for medical and religious purposes, essential oils developed a contemporary following for relaxation, massage and skincare and as a mood booster. Lemongrass Spa Products mission is not only to provide fresh, clean & natural products for the entire family but also to provide an indulgent spa experience from the comfort of your own home. Here are some tips and recipes for enhancing your home spa experience using essential oils.

Create a romantic, uplifting, relaxing or other desirable ambiance by diffusing essential oils in your home or car. People diffuse oils purely for the love of a scent, aromatherapy benefits or both. Whatever your reason, it is recommended you use an electric nebulizer or diffuser (steam or fan) to maintain the molecular integrity of the compound because essential oils can breakdown if exposed to heat. Lemongrass Spa Products now offers three diffuser choices: Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser (steam), Aroma to Go Portable Diffuser (fan) and a new Car Diffuser (fan). Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the diffuser to enjoy the aroma throughout your home or car. As an added bonus, a study published in t

he Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy suggests diffusing essential oils could be effective in fighting certain air born bacteria.

Meditation & Prayer

Frankincense essential oil is centuries old and believed to connect and heal mind, body and spirit. Diffuse a few drops of Organic Frankincense Essential Oil for medication and prayer or anytime to unite mind and soul.

Purification Blend

Diffuse 2 drops of Pure Air Blend, 1 drop Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil and 1 drop Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil.

Pure Air

Add 5-7 drops of Pure Air Blend to your home or Car Diffuser to cleanse the air.

Refreshing Blend

Diffuse 2 drops Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil and 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil to invigorate the mind.

Soothing Blend

Diffuse 2 drops of Organic Frankincense Essential Oil and 1 drop Organic Lavender Essential Oil at bed or bath time to ease the day’s stresses.

Waking Blend

Diffuse equal parts Organic Frankincense Essential Oil, Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil and Organic Geranium Essential Oil as you prepare for the day.

Shower & Bath

Essential oils can be used in the shower and bath to calm mind and body as you enjoy your favorite home spa treatment.

Refreshing Shower

Add 5 drops of Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil or Organic Peppermint Essential Oil to the bottom of the shower. Your whole body will be immersed in an essential oil steam. Expect to feel uplifted, awakened, refreshed and ready to go.

Relaxing Bath

While drawing your bath water, pour 5 drops Organic Lavender
Essential Oil, 5 drops Organic Geranium
Essential Oil and 5 drops Balancing Act into the bath, under the running water. Add a small amount of Fractionated Coconut Oil for extra hydration.

Skin Care

Adding essential oils to a carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil and massaging into skin helps promote healthy skin function, adds hydration and relieves tension. Stimulate pressure points with your essential oil blend. A few common pressure points include:

  • Soles of feet
  • Inside of wrists
  • Neck and shoulders
  • Hands
  • Behind ears
  • Temples

Therapeutic Massage

Add 5 drops Organic Frankincense Essential Oil per 1 oz. of Fractionated Coconut Oil. Apply as body oil after a warm bath or shower or for a therapeutic massage.

Customize your Lemongrass Spa products with your special essential oil blend by adding essential oils to an unscented product. Here’s a guideline to help you make your own essential oil creation.

Unscented Prebiotic Hand Wash:

    • Add 5 – 6 drops of your favorite essential oil to an 8 oz. bottle of hand wash for a mellow, lightly scented soap. TIP: Use caution when adding oils; if you add too much essential oil, it can discolor soap and cause it to become thin and separate.

Unscented Body Crème, Body IcingBody Icing, Lotion or Body Polish:

    • Add about 5 drops of your favorite essential oil to a 6 oz. jar of Unscented Body Crème or Body Icing. Blend well with spoon and apply to skin.
    • Add about 6 drops of your favorite essential oil to an 8 oz. bottle of Unscented Hand & Body Lotion. Shake well and apply to skin. TIP: Works well if the bottle of lotion (closed lid) is warmed up in a hot water bath before blending. We don’t recommend microwaving our products.
    • Add about 6 drops of your favorite essential oil to an 8 oz. jar of Unscented Body Polish; blend well with a spoon. You may want to put all the polish into a bowl, mix well and then transfer the polish back into the jar with a spoon.

Wrinkle Reducer

Add 2 drops Organic Geranium Essential Oil to face crème and apply twice daily.

Body Odor Reducer

Add 3 drops of Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil to your moisturizing body lotion or balm to help combat unpleasant body odors.

Please note, we do not recommend applying Immune Boost Blend onto skin unless diluted substantially because of the Cinnamon and Clove contained in it.

    • Always dilute pure essential oils prior to application therapy to avoid skin irritation and always avoid eye area.
      • Children under 2 years of age: application therapy not recommended due to their delicate skin.
      • Children 2 to 6 years of age: dilution rate of 0.5%, 2-3 drops of essential oil per 1 ounce of carrier oil.
      • Children 6 – 12 years of age: dilution rate of 1%, 5 drops of essential oil per 1 ounce of carrier oil.
      • Children over 12 years of age and adults: 2-3% dilution rate, 10-15 drops essential oil per ounce of carrier oil.
    • Not for internal use. 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils are 70-100% more potent than the herb itself and improperly ingesting them can burn the esophagus, stomach and intestinal lining. Essential oils also break down during the digestion process, making them less effective as application or inhalation therapy.
    • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
    • Use precaution when using in the presence of infants.

The particles in essential oils come from distilling or extracting the different parts of plants, including the flowers, leaves, bark, roots, resin and peels... https://bellaterraoils.com/product/rosehip-seed-oil-for-hair/

Thanks for this information on oils. I have often seen olive and even almond oils get mentioned as commonly used oils for home made skin care remedies. Would you also recommend these oils?

http://homespa.me also has a lot of interesting uses of oils for homemade skin care treatment.
