Top Leaders Attend Leading the Way Retreat
Twenty-two women from Lemongrass Spa Products participated in an empowering weekend with Belinda Ellsworth and her Step Into Success Team at the Leading the Way Leadership Retreat in Chicago, Illinois last month. At the cornerstone of the event was the celebration of the release of Belinda’s Direct Selling for Dummies, Amazon’s #1 Bestselling Book in several business categories. This exceptional how-to book helps the reader navigate the direct sales industry in pursuit of success, setting goals, managing their time wisely and harnessing the power of social media to book, sell and recruit. Each attendee received an autographed copy of this business-building manual.
Belinda showcased some of the most impactful social media speakers in today’s direct selling arena, including Lydia Martin and Lyndsay Tompkins. Lemongrass Spa’s Executive Director, Tara LaMagna, was asked to present her successful steps in exceptional team engagement to the direct sales leaders attending the event. Tara’s story of how she built a team of 300 consultants in just over two years had leaders from dozens of direct selling companies feverishly taking notes. Tara’s style of utilizing Facebook groups to motivate and inspire her team, Facebook parties to increase her sales and systems for attracting new recruits to her team have been instrumental in her success. Tara traveled to the Dominican Republic in June 2015 as one of the Spa Destination Trip earners and was named to the Dynamic Dozen (Top in Sales) at the Annual Convention.
Kathy Yellets, Lemongrass Spa’s National Field Developer, was one of the speakers who shared experiences in sponsoring new team members Coming from over 21 years in the Direct Selling Industry, Kathy offered techniques for comfortably following up with customers, hostesses and potential new consultants. Her friendly style of making meaningful connections with people is evident and she offered some savvy language to use when sharing the business opportunity.
Saturday night the Lemongrass Spa entourage was treated to dinner by CEO, Heidi Leist, at famous Harry Caray’s Tavern at the Navy Pier where we celebrated Lisa Muth and Stefanie VanNess’ birthdays. Afterwards the group braved a taxi ride to the Eataly, an Italian food marketplace, for a glass of wine and frozen gelato. Upon the close of the event on Sunday, Heidi presented each Lemongrass Spa leader with a uniquely inscribed key from the Giving Keys company, with the idea to pay it forward. Many have already had an opportunity to pass their key on to someone who deserved a meaningful word, such as Joy, Love, Forever, Brave and Faith. The weekend was astoundingly inspiring for all who attended.
