Skip the Post-Workout Shower - How to Go From Sweaty to Sassy!

Studies show working out jump-starts your metabolism, improves mood, increases energy and reduces stress. But fitting in a workout can be tricky when your day is filled with a 9-5 job, carpool, errands, midterms and spa parties and showering post sweat is not always an option. Here are the products to keep in your gym bag for freshening up post-work out when you’re on the go, but still want to look your best!

Face Wash – Removing bacteria and dirt is a must after finishing your sweat, so that pores don’t get clogged. Our Facial Bar Soaps are great for on the go. Simply run water over the bar soap, lather in hands, massage hands over face and rinse thoroughly with water.

Dry Shampoo – Our natural powder formula absorbs sweat and oil, while also adding texture and style. Enhanced with tangerine essential oil, the Dry Shampoo will leave a fresh citrus aroma to your locks.

Deodorant – This one is a no brainer! Deodorant helps absorb moisture, neutralize odor and combat bacteria. Our Natural Deodorant Spray dries quickly and is perfect for on the go, in a travel friendly spray bottle.

TIP: We recommend applying the Natural Deodorant Spray pre and post workout.

As your guests arrive, greet them at the door with a single red rose with a quote or verse tied with raffia or ribbon to the stem. Invite them to enjoy a hand spa at the kitchen sink with a display of Sugar Petals, Passion Punch and Grapefruit Bergamot Body Polishes and the Organic Nail Balm applied to their nails. Once they’ve experienced the hand spa, encourage them to sample Body Icings, the Healing Balms and handcrafted soaps displayed on red chargers on the dining room table or in the center of the living room on your coffee table.

4 Easy Ways to Go Green This Holiday Season

Loving family gatherings and joyful gift giving are two reasons this is the most wonderful time of the year. For the environment, however, Thanksgiving through New Year’s isn’t as merry. Stores are flooded with cheap disposable toys, decorations and extra holiday embellishments often made with questionable materials. According to a review by Stanford University, Americans produce 25% more waste during this time, equating to about 7 million pounds of trash. In addition, the energy bill for an average family home increases almost $60 per month due to festive displays. Here are four simple tips for a greener holiday season.

1. Energy Saving

Reduce energy usage by using fewer decorative lights and animatronic ornaments as well as swapping incandescent bulbs for LEDs. Switching to LED bulbs and string lights uses an average of 75% less energy, while lasting about 25 times longer than incandescent lights. In addition to using more energy efficient bulbs, turn lights off during the day, when you’re not home and when you go to bed.

2. Eco-Friendly Gifts

It’s tempting to buy the trendiest toys and stock up on cute discount store finds, but these can often contain a mix of potentially toxic chemicals such as phthalates, flame retardants, bisphenol A and even lead. Instead, create your own gifts by baking, drawing, building or sewing or purchase gifts made with sustainable materials and natural ingredients. Also, consider presenting your loved ones with a relaxing spa day experience at home. Giving more meaningful gifts free from dangerous additives but packed full of your affections is not only better for the environment but will be remembered by the recipient long after the holiday has ended.
