2015 Year in Review

From revealing a brand new magazine-style catalog, to launching a line of certified organic essential oils, to being named to the Top 100 Women Owned Companies for the second time, 2015 has been an incredible year for growth and opportunity. Here's our 2015 year in review.


The introduction of innovative new products is one of the key elements in engaging our customers and creating excitement for our sales consultants. Sheer Minerals BB Crème (Beauty Balm) was a huge hit with our customers and consultants. This lightweight tinted moisturizer was offered in five shades to provide a ‘liquid foundation’ to those who prefer it. Inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year, Merlot Organic Crème Lipstick and Marsala Blush quickly became favorites among makeup wearers. An essential oil collection, complete with Fractionated Coconut Oil and rollerball vials for mixing blends, was introduced in the summer. Tea Tree, Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint single oils plus Immune Boost, Balancing Act and Mint Revival blends were offered to customers, in addition to many essential oil products we’ve been selling for years. We launched a revolutionary Prebiotic Facial Wash and Facial Mist at our annual convention in July. In addition to the popular Prebiotic Body Wash, this organic, GMO-free product works on a molecular level by stimulating good microorganisms on the skin and promoting collagen production. Prebiotic Foaming Liquid Soap was introduced in four varieties including Mandarin Orange, Candy Cane, Tea Tree with Citrus and Unscented.



We are incredibly grateful to the members of the community in Pine, Colorado and Tarpon Springs, Florida for supporting the mission of Lemongrass Spa Products. Twenty-five team members are employed at each facility, working in tandem to manufacture, label, ship and offer customer support to our consultants and customers. During the peak holiday season between November 1 and December 21st there were a total of 18,609 packages shipped from the two warehouses to homes all over the US and some APO’s overseas. The management team did an excellent job of ensuring both facilities were sufficiently stocked and staffed during the high volume periods.

Our focus on rebranding was unveiled in the summer with a new web design of the corporate and replicated sites. Our web presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest climbed drastically in 2015, as our attention to social media became a top-shelf priority. The weekly blog has gained a strong following as in-house authors post articles about Mineral Makeup, Consultant Spotlights, skincare techniques, ingredient wow factors and new product offerings.

Two key individuals were welcomed to the management team at home office. Bethany Morgante, Marketing Project Manager, joined the company in May at the Tarpon Springs office to oversee marketing materials, graphics, develop social media assets and solidify some new branding that had been introduced earlier in the year. She and Jenny Hancey, our Graphics Designer, have been instrumental in the complete revamp of the product labels in 2015. Kathy Yellets, National Field Developer, was hired in November to support the ongoing training and development of leaders and increase the recruiting efforts of the field. Kathy joins Jennifer Dusza, Consultant Relations Manager, in supporting consultants with training and coaching. Coming to us with 21 years experience with Pampered Chef and most recently as a celebrated National Executive with the company, she is offering training calls, Koffee with Kathy discussions and team trainings in-person and on the phone from her office in Raleigh, North Carolina.  


Our annual Convention and Awards Night Celebration was held in July at the gulf-view Hyatt Hotel in Tampa, Florida. Consultants from around the country learned from exceptional speakers including Nina Obier, Deanna Shrodes and Kindra Hall. Throughout the year, consultants hosted “SpaLaBration” or “SpaLaPaLooza” events in their hometowns. Anywhere from 20 to 150 guests attended these high energy, open house style events showcasing our most popular products and our extraordinary business opportunity. In January, CEO & Founder, Heidi Leist, Consultant Relations Manager, Jennifer Dusza and Director of Communications, Angie Conrad, hosted a two-day Leadership Retreat in Orlando, Florida. Forty leaders attended this live training with guest speaker and author, Belinda Ellsworth from Step Into Success. Later that fall, twenty-six Lemongrass Spa directors attended Belinda’s prestigious Leading the Way Retreat in downtown Chicago, Illinois where we heard from exceptional speakers and directors from various successful direct selling companies.  


Fifty-three consultants were promoted to Director title in 2015 with over $45,000 in special bonuses awarded. Advanced leadership promotions among another thirty-nine directors were celebrated with increased commission checks, promotion bonuses, sterling silver bracelets and keepsake plaques. The compensation plan was enhanced in the spring, which resulted in a new title of Team Leader, lower team volume requirements for upper leaders and a loyalty rewards program with an opportunity to earn a ring or logo watch for sales and recruiting.

Our enhanced Jump Start Rewards program was unveiled in March featuring a three month plus enrollment month period. An estimated 30% more consultants are earning Jump Start versus the previous 6 month Jump Start program. Consultants can earn bling shirts or tablecloths, free product bonuses of their choice or a Peridot and Diamond Ring in their first full three months with Lemongrass Spa. This new Jump Start Rewards program has been hugely popular with our new enrollees!

The Spa Destination Incentive Trip to the exotic beaches of the Dominican Republic was one of the highlights of the year. Seventeen couples traveled to Punta Cana at the Paradisus All-Inclusive Resort in June and were pampered at the Yhi Spa, enjoyed delightful international cuisine and participated in beachfront excursions.


ColoradoBiz Magazine named Lemongrass Spa Products, LLC number 55 out of the Top 100 Women Owned Companies in the state. The Direct Selling Association in Washington, D.C. congratulated us on our 3rd year of membership in good standing as well as in the Direct Selling Women’s Association, of which we’ve been members since 2008. Home Party Rankings listed Lemongrass Spa Products as a Top Trending direct selling company several times throughout the year.


Because of the loyalty of our customers and the efforts of our incredible sales force, we experienced a 54% growth in sales from 2014 year-over-year along with 57% increase in recruitment. With over 3600 sales consultants across the country, we’ve increased the number of consultants in nearly every state in the US and military stationed overseas. With a focus on rebranding using our new tagline, “Fresh, Clean and Natural”, the popularity of the brand continues to increase.

What’s Next?

With 2016’s imminent arrival, where do we go from here? We will continue focusing on strengthening our sales force with outstanding training tools and events, creating fresh new organic products and continuing our soaring social media presence. We plan to unveil a variety of new videos for our training library and for social media advertising. Developing more leaders within our sales force will come from exceptional new consultant training programs in the first quarter of 2016. Our goal is to exceed the 65% year-over-year growth rate we had between 2013-2014 in sales and recruitment through local and regional events, social media campaigns and contests and incentives to reward our field.

    I ordered some of this simply because my sister is selling it. They charged me $6.95 shipping although I requested it be shipped to her as part of the online party, the products were very over priced for the size, it came with a paper in the box that had been printed on a half page and torn (they didn't even cut the papers in half) stating that the ingredients in the mascara were not what they normally are and I could return it if I didn't like it. The whole experience was just unprofessional and I would really just rather give my sister $20 if she needs it instead of spending almost $40 on a small tube of mascara and tiny bottle of bug spray.
